The recent public Supreme Court ruling on DACA once again brings up critical questions about the larger injustices in the current immigration system in the United States. People and families navigate many borders and barriers every day to survive. We offer this mini-retreat as a way to uplift the daily struggles and nuances facing families who are going through the immigration process, seeking a solid job, applying for citizenship, and creating a home space. We will dig into the details of these struggles and how we can continue to advocate for just policies and the dignity of human life. During this mini-retreat, we will feature speakers from local Darst Center partner agencies who will share their experiences on the ground in Chicago and the work they do to support immigrant families.
