Please join Community Renewal Society for a free screening of MILWAUKEE 53206 and panel discussion in September. Voted Urban World Film Festival 2017 Best Documentary, MILWAUKEE 53206 chronicles the lives of those living in the ZIP code that incarcerates the highest percentage of black men in America. Through the intimate stories of three 53206 residents, we witness the high toll that mass incarceration takes on individuals and families that make up the community. The film sheds light on the experiences of people from across the United States who live with the daily effects of mass incarceration. Each screening will be followed immediately by a panel discussion with individuals from the Chicagoland area who are impacted by incarceration and working to reform the system. There will also be opportunities for you to get involved and take action in the important work of justice reform. Screenings will be held on three dates at three different locations - September 11 @ Chicago State University, Gwendolyn Brooks Library; September 14 @ New Faith Baptist Church International*; September 17 @ Old St. Patrick's Church.
